Post Adoption Support Services

The Post Adoption Support Services program serves familes who have adopted children from foster care, private agencies (domestic and international), and from family or friends who are living in the following NC counties: Anson, Cumberland, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Richmond, Scotland, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne, and Wilson. The program aims to foster more positive parenting experiences for adoptive families and help them connect with services within their community. 

The following services are offered at no cost to families:

  • Ongoing individual support through the Post Adoption Services Line: 855-596-5015
  • Screenings and assessements for those concerned about their child's behaviors
  • Referrals to local community services
  • Opportunities for parents and their children to meet other adoptive families via fun family activities, conferences, and social support groups
  • The Caring for Children who have Experienced Trauma (the Resource Parenting Curriculum) parent workshop.
Post Adoption Support Services is funded by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Social Services Post Adoption Support Services Grant.
